Eun Lee

Biography
Lee Eun (b. 1961, Busan, Korea) studied painting at ChuGye University for the Arts and has since developed a distinctive practice grounded in ceramics. She creates wall-based works from hand-cut and fired clay fragments, assembling them into compositions that sit between painting and sculpture. Her work draws from the image of the sea, understood not as a literal landscape but as an inner space shaped by memory, time, and sensation. Through a repetitive and physically intensive process, she builds rhythmic surfaces in deep cobalt tones that evoke the movement of waves and the passage of time. The works carry a quiet, contemplative presence in which material and gesture become a form of meditation on perception and lived experience.
