Biography
Seungsook Sim is born in 1972, Seoul, South Korea. He studied in Hong-ik University, Seoul, Korea and the School of the Art institute of Chicago, Chicago, USA, majoring in sculpture. From 2005, he had influential solo shows in Korea, USA and Germany. Also he participated Curatorial & Principal group shows, including International Biennale and art festival. The artist is paying attention to social phenomena experienced from deficiency or excess of human desires through various visual media, including sculpture, installations and photographs. He has reinterpreted and linked various timely topics, while working with the themes such as instability invisibly latent in superficial stability, unfriendly attitude towards others and intentional isolation for self-protection.
